Fun Friday Photos: Marcus Tandler, Daron Babin & Brasco at Search Bash San Jose '08

With the cold weather now enveloping Pennsylvania, I wanted to step back and remember the warmth of summer and the fun of Search Bash at SES San Jose.  I went perusing the photos and found these three "hawt" guys and just knew this one was this week's photo.

This week's photo features Marcus Tandler, host of Webmasters on the Roof on WebMaster Radio, Daron Babin owner of WebMaster Radio and the ever reliable "Mr. Producer" who saved my butt when the battery on my phone use to die while I was hosting the DSC with Danny Sullivan.

Fun Friday Photos: Geoff Livingston & His Velvet Elvis at SearchCamp Philly

Back in September we held SearchCamp Philly in conjunction with PodCamp Philly and boy was it a heck of a lot of fun!  The audience was great, the speakers were awesome and the topics were really just right on target with online marketing and what webmasters and business owners could do with their sites.

The really nice thing about SearchCamp was that we had three people from Virginia and one from Texas come in and speak and help launch SearchCamp.  Giovanni Gallucci from Viewzi, SMG's own Simon Heseltine, Debbie Weil who's the author of the Corporate Blogging Book and last but by certainly no means least Geoff Livingston of Livingston Communications and the author of the book, Now is Gone.

Geoff's got this sticker on his lap top, it's very interesting, quite unique.  He calls it the "Velvet Elvis".  I even saw Maggie Fox commenting about it on Twitter the other day, and I knew then what my Friday Fun picture was going to be - Geoff and his Velvet Elvis at SearchCamp Philly.

Fun Friday Photos: Motoko & Bill Hunt at the Zappos Party During Pubcon 2008

I've got two favorite couples in this industry, Dave & Irma Wallace of SearchRank and Bill & Motoko Hunt.  Bill is 'the guy' at Global Strategies, and Motoko has her own Japanese Search Marketing Firm.  I caught them hanging out at the Zappos party at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, during Pubcon 2008.  These two really make me smile, how about you? :)

Last Friday was Halloween and Beth Harte from the Harte of Marketing blog (and fellow IM-DV member) joined me at my local hangout where we had a bunch of fun with the local karaoke singers.  My friend Allan took this photo, Beth and I were Twittering from the bar, and we were posing here to make a point ... "This one's for your Mack Collier!" :P~

This week's fun photo comes from this past week's conference, eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit in Washington DC.  I was glad to see a few of my search friends there, including the very charming Matt Williams of No Possum Consulting (you gotta see his business cards!) and the always fun Amanda Watlington of Searching for Profit.  Before I had to scurry off to another dinner with local friends I attended the Web Analytics Wednesday meeting at eMetrics and hung out with Matt & Amanda, they kindly obliged me with their smiles when I asked for pictures!

The photos from SMX East are up and on Flickr!  As I mentioned last week, I was really low key at SMX East and didn't make all of my usual rounds, but there are about 40 or so photos in the set.

This week's fun photo is of three of my most favorite folks in the industry, in fact I'm calling them the Three Musketeers!  Christine Churchill of KeyRelevance and SEM Clubhouse (Key Relevance's Blog), Scottie Clairborne and Jill Whalen of HighRankings.  Believe it or not, all three of these women were instrumental in forming the beginnings of my Search Marketing career (whether they know it or not!), to them, I owe a debt of gratitude!

Fun Friday Photos: John Carcutt, Loren Baker & Darrell Long

I scheduled this photo to go live for Friday, right before I left to "unplug" for the holiday weekend.  Apparently I forgot to switch it out of "draft" mode and here this photo sat all weekend, so my apologies.

I found these 3 handsome chaps just lounging around at the Yahoo Booth on the expo hall floor at SES San Jose.  I got a smile out of John Carcutt (left) and Darrell Long (right), but poor Loren, I just don't know if he was shocked at my camera not flashing or what.  Regardless, I thought this was a nice photo of the SearchEngineJournal crew (at least that's what I'm calling them).

Fun Friday Photos: Lisa Barone & Mike Grehan at SES San Jose

SMG has been pretty quiet the past week, that's because the majority of the team was out in San Jose for Search Engine Strategies.  As always it was packed full of fun, but it was also packed full of meeting new people and a whole bunch of new sessions.

Never fear though, my trusty camera (and my new video camera) were right by my side and I managed to snap up a lot of the fun.  From Gordon Biersch on Sunday night to the WebmasterRadio.FM Search Bash on Wednesday night there's over 400 pictures (which finally all got up to Flickr late last night).

I even have a Tuesday's tips video almost together (special edition!) which I can hopefully get up soon!  But until then here's one of the many pictures from SES San Jose.... it's Mike Grehan and Lisa Barone hanging out at the Fairmont Hotel Lobby on Sunday night.
