Online Marketing Tips Video: Promoting Your Blog
Right off the heels of Blog Potomac and SES Toronto where a lot of questions were about blogs and how to promote them, we have our Tuesday's Tips in Online Marketing. In this edition I'm discussing some really easy, high level tips that anyone can use to help promote their blog. From Feedburner to good old fashion word of mouth marketing, there are some simple tips you can implement to help promote your blog.

Promoting Your Blog - Video Transcription
Hi and welcome back to Tuesday's Tips in Online Marketing, today is Tuesday is June 24th, 2008. I'm Li Evans of KeyRelevance and SearchMarketingGurus.
In today's edition, we're going to give you some tips on how you can promote your blog.
Make It Easy to Subscribe to Your Blog
The first thing you want to take a look at is, how easy it for people in your audience to subscribe to your blog? You want to make sure you are offering different ways for people to subscribe to your blog, such as RSS, Email . Then there are other services that actually provide different way to subscribe to your blog, such as through PDF and through mobile. One of those companies is XFruits, you can take a look at them and you can burn your feed to be a PDF version or mobile version very easily and offer that as another way for people to read your blog.
Use Feedburner's Headline Animator
The next thing you want to take a look at, tip wise, is a service like Feedburner. Feedburner will actually burn your blog into an RSS feed, but they also provide promotional tools such as their headline animator. The headline animator can be used in a lot of different places. What it does is, it circles through your blog posts, maybe four or five of them and its animated. You can put this in your email signature, or you could put it in a document, or even on your static website to get some interest going into what you are posting on your blog. People click through and they find your blog and they find out what you are writing about.
Put Your Blog URL in Your Social Media Profiles
The next thing you want to take a look at is putting your blog URL in your social media profiles. You want to make sure if you are using Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, MiGentre, BlackPlanet or any of these other social media outlets you want to make sure you are putting your blog URL in there. When people check out your profile, they'll be clicking on that URL to your blog to find out who you are and what you are all about.
Put Your Blog URL in Your Email Signature
The next thing you want to take a look is putting your blog URL in your email signature. Where you actually put down where you put your name and contact information, but your blog URL in there too. This is another way to get the word out about your blog to the people you talk to everyday via email. They'll see that URL and click it to come in and see what you are doing.
Use Good Ol' Fashion Word of Mouth to Promote Your Blog
The last thing we have as a tip for promoting your blog is to Tell People! Tell anybody that you are talking to, say "Hey I got a blog and this is where my blog is at!" If you don't tell them, they will never know about your blog and they could never tell anybody else about your blog. So, don't be shy, tell people about your blog.

Another great way to promote your blog is to get involved in the industry that you are writing about. Post in forums and blogs that are related to yours. Also, include your blog link in your social network profile.
